Zainteresowanie nagraniami z 1970 roku, a zwłaszcza sesją studyjną Dylana z George`em Harrisonem spowodowało zapotrzebowanie na szersze udostępnienie tych historycznych utworów.Bob Dylan - 1970 zawiera niewydane wcześniej fragmenty sesji do albumów Self Portrait i New Morning a także kompletne nagrania studyjne z 1 maja 1970 roku z Georgem Harrisonem. Bob i George występuje razem na dziewięciu utworach, w tym: `One Too Many Mornings,` `Gates of Eden,` `Mama, You Been On My Mind`, w utworze grupy Everly Brothers `All I Have to Do Is Dream` oraz utworze Carla Perkinsa `Matchbox`.
